With all the hype lately you would think the presidential elections are coming up next week, but the reality is that we are still months away from just the primaries.
But, this is a good thing.
With so much time left in the election we have time to make sure that people are aware of an important issue that needs to be addressed by every candidate – cybersecurity.
What people think about cybersecurity and the election
The statistics from Tripwire’s survey of infosec professionals are a little grim. Many think that cybersecurity should be an key focus issue in the election, but fear it is too complicated for the average voter to understand, so no candidate will dive deep into the issue.
Let’s not be discouraged, though; another survey from Wakefield Research found that registered voters are concerned about a lot of cybersecurity issues. Check out the infographic below to see what infosec professionals and voters have to say about the election and then start talking to people about it. Use the statistics as a conversation starter and through tweets, texts, blog posts or in-person discussions help make cybersecurity understandable and a key issue in this presidential election.
